Manitoulin Armour Stone

Shoreline, Erosion Control and Armour Stone

Manitoulin Armour Stone Now Offering.

Erosion Control Armour Stone.

Is your waterfront eroding away or need to build a break wall or marina?

If so we can help!

We have 1200 acres of tested and approved live edge /weathered edge limestone/armour stone.

DENSITY:

Our stone density is between 175-185 lbs per cubic foot or 2.8 tons per cubic meter and it’s almost as hard as granite.

Quest Stone is one of the very few quarries that will provide you with a geological assessment to prove the absorption rate, abrasiveness and its density. Engineers, architects, townships, municipalities, cities and contracting companies love working with stone that has this technical data.

SPECIFICATIONS:

The following specifications permits for shoreline erosion projects easier to get approved by the ministries.

abrasion resistance = 23.7
mod. Rupture = 1.57 megapascals = 2549 psi *
comp. strength = 166.9 megapascals = 24,209 psi *
2.8 ton / cubic metre

GEOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS:

All quarries will not provide you with a geological assessment; the cost in a few short few years may be replacing the stones again if they should break down.

If your a contractor and you guarantee your work then this is the stone to use … we are positive that you or your company will only want to do the shoreline once … correct!.

We are capable of drilling and splitting the stone to your specific widths, depths and lengths to meet engineered drawing specifications and lifting capacity of your equipment.

Ask yourself this questions … do you want stone that is just good enough to just pass inspection and engineer requirements?

The stone that is a few dollars cheaper isn’t always the best and may only last a few short years and if you provided workmanship guarantee you or your company will be required to only have to replace them again because that stone you used is now breaking or wearing away!

Geology and lab reports are the bottom line. Purchasing quality stone pays forward.

Flagstone/Jumbo Flagstone

This is a sedimentary rock split into layers.

It is mainly used as paving slabs or walkways and patios.

Jumbo flagstone can also be used for memorials, headstones, facades and other general construction.

Premium Weathered Edge Armour Stone

Our most popular stone on the market.

Our most popular stone on the market. This sedimentary rock contains various skeletal fragments of marine organisms.

This stone can be used in many landscaping projects such as yard decor, erosion control, waterside/poolside decor, decorative outdoor retaining walls, waterfalls, grotto’s, garden edging and so much more.

Premium weathered edge armour stone is pulled drilled and split to your specific needs or engineered drawing.

We are one of the very few quarries in Ontario to offer a product like this.

95% of quarries pull or blast the stone out of the ground and break it with a hydraulic hammer or use the cutting edge on a excavator.

Quest Stone preserves the integrity of the stone without causing cracks or fractures that won’t pass inspection on a engineered job site.
